This project treats the table as both a literal and symbolic site for collective resistance and care. Design teams in Atlanta, Lisbon, and Hasselt each gathered around a table of their own, working independently but toward shared commitments—together adding up to, as the project puts it, a constellation of small experiments in living together otherwise.

In the Atlanta edition, invites creatives to sit down together and work through their use, non-use, and misuse of AI—through conversation, reflection, and hands-on making. In Atlanta, that took shape on April 25, 2026, the workshop's first iteration, when local artists and creatives spent a day at Freeside Atlanta working through a workbook from the Public Design Studio. The session moved from private reflection on each person's own creative practice, to open discussion about where AI fits into that work, to drafting a shared set of “commitments” as a group to explore conditions for how they want AI to show up, or not, in their practice

Those commitments were documented on a custom-printed poster and later folded into a Riso-printed zine shown at the 2026 Participatory Design Conference in Milan, part of a wider exhibit on the project's distributed tables. It's one small, local answer to a much larger question the project keeps returning to: not whether to take a side on AI, but how to make room for artists to question, reject, or reimagine it on their own terms.
